Wow that was extemely depressing to read.I believe most of what you said is probably true, but I refuse to believe our future could be so dystopian.
I believe yes that very dark days are ahead, but I believe in the American people. We will not succumb to this tyrannical group of people. We will tear it down if it must be done and rebuild a better and more humane world than ever before.I do not believe they will be triumphant in the end.
you may be right, but I don't think that 'end' will be in our lifetime. I also don't want to believe it, but the evidence continues to mount that this is a battle that can not be won in anything close to the short term.
Additionally, America has slowly moved farther and farther away from anything sustainable in terms of an open and free democracy and has been coasting on stolen momentum for most, not all of my life time.
The bad actors are so deeply embedded into the system at this point that it would take a herculean effort to remove them all and would require something even more dramatic than the purges that Trump is doing. By the time that was done, we would be left with something needing to be rebuilt and without a doubt whoever had the ability to do such a thing would say that the original foundations were not set up 'good enough' and essentially 'rewrite' democracy.
But the problem was never the play, it was the actors. It's a catch-22. People keep holding on to this hope that everything will just 'go back to normal' but at this point I'm not sure that 'normal' ever really existed and we are just finding that out in slow motion now. sorry. :(
No sorry needed.I realuze this has been in motion since the 1970s and no it cannot go back.I just dont see such a dire situation as you.I believe it is going to be a rough 2 years for sure.I guess we can agree to disagree.
I pray you are right and I hope that you stick around here long enough to say 'i told you so' - as I mentioned in this or a previous report I will be very happy to eat my words and will gladly ask for seconds.
I often think "Children of Men", the film, isn't that far away. Based on your research, do you think eventually Substack will be shut down? And if so, how soon?
i think that we will soon lose the 'freedom' we have to so easily post things and get any reach at all. I kind of feel like these large outages we've been seeing here and there are testing for points of weakness. also, any platform capable of providing reach, ease of use and accessibility to the masses is undoubtedly tainted by the ruling class. they only let us play around in the sandbox for as long as it is a net positive for them.
