A Lot of Rights Being Taken Away

Just ignore anything you hear about the regime bringing people back from Gitmo or reversing their decision to do this or that. It’s all head fakes. While the press was all to happy to report the ‘win’ that Gitmo prisoners were back on American soil, before the ink was even dry, many of those prisoners and then some were on a plane to El Salvador.

Trump pulled this off by invoking a law from the 1790’s that ostensibly allows the president to unilaterally detain and deport non-citizens back to their country of origin, while at war with said country.

The only modern time this has ever been used was during WWII for the shameful detainment of Japanese and German Citizens. Now it is being used as a cudgel to further bludgeon the judicial system to death with.

Using this flimsy shield of legitimacy, the regime deported and unknown number of people directly to El Salvador (who has graciously offered us use of there Mega Prisons).

The issue? No due process and no proof of nationality or non-citizenship. While due process is not a right under this obscure and ancient law, there are a concerning amount of problems.

We are not at war with Venezuela. And according to the law, we have to be at war with the country whose citizens we are detaining. Additionally, those detainees must go through some sort of process that allows them to attempt to prove their right to be here. And finally, the law requires that citizens be deported back to their country of origin. NOT into some insanely dystopian El Salvador Mega-Prison.

El Salvador is going to become our Siberia. These people were disappeared and no one is sure who or how many they were. They *may* have been illegals or criminals. But we have no way of knowing.

This is a big fucking deal.

Everything that they have done since day 1 is about pushing the envelope a little further and a little further each day. If they can get away with unilaterally abducting and disappearing these guys with no transparency, nothing stops them from picking people up at protests.

This is insanely dangerous and any precedents set here will erupt onto the streets against dissents sooner than later. Even as of this weekend the regime was arguing in court that even if the alien enemies act was deemed unconstitutional or illegal, the President still has unilateral authority simply by the nature of his role as president.

That means, at some point, even if the courts rule that he can’t just abduct full on U.S citizens and ship them off to El Salvador because that’s fucking horrendously illegal and insane. Well, guess what his “Article II powers” still give him permission to do that.

The DOJ is arguing that the President can unilaterally deport anyone he wants without ANY statutory authority, just on his inherent authority as President over national security. That is a terrifying claim to make and not one that has ever been recognized before in US history.

And even if they do give him court orders to stop, he just won’t. The courts are too slow to keep up with this madness. I guess there was always the assumption that if some president went rouge that they system would check and balance them. But I guess it’s good he hobbled all the checks and balances in the first week. This is the type of President that Curtis Yarvin dreamed of. One with no guardrails and complete and total control.

The Only Good Judge is a Loyal Judge

On Friday, Trump spoke at the DOJ. Unlike previous presidents who visited the hallowed halls, he didn’t really have anything important to say or announce. But he did take up everyone’s time by lashing out against his enemies and praising his prettiest little play things.

In this rambling vengeance soaked “speech”, the President made it very clear that any judge that goes against him is an ‘evil’ person. It went even further to declare that if a lawyer, judge or media outlet is critical or dares to cross him, that he considers that a crime.

Another thing he considers a crime and ‘illegal’ is reporting. If the facts being reports paint him in a bad light or disagree with his policies, that is now illegal and a crime as well in his mind. We have to take everything he says as a promise to be fulfilled. Unless he was just being sarcastic, obviously.

“And it has to stop, it has to be illegal, it’s influencing judges and it’s really changing law, and it just cannot be legal. I don’t believe it’s legal, and they do it in total coordination with each other,” he added.

He also praised judges that have granted him extraordinary privileges, power and precedence. Saying that the likes of the ‘corruption’ that they will uncover will be spectacular and legendary and then sweetened the pot by letting those in attendance that any judge responsible for helping put away the ‘dissent’ judges would be rewarded with fame honor and glory.

We will expose and very much expose their egregious crimes and severe misconduct of which was levels you’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. “It’s going to be legendary. It’s going to also be legendary for the people that are able to seek it out and bring justice. We will restore the scales of justice in America, and we will ensure that such abuses never happen again in our country.”

Read between the lines. This is a threat. In between the breaths where he said that the DOJ and judicial branch should not be weaponized, he simply described how he was going to be weaponizing the DOJ and judicial branch as political weapons.

I’m calling this the Trump Shit Sandwich. He starts by saying what they are definitely NOT going to do and what SHOULD NOT happen, then they proceed to explain, in detail how they are going to do that very thing (that’s the shit). \

The Dismantling of Education Persists

It sounds like the distant BANG! BANG! BANG! of hammer against stone. The rumblings of large heavy equipment being moved onto the site. Sporadic loud BOOMS! as large sections of wall and ceiling come crashing down to the ground.

over 50 colleges are now currently under investigation for “DEI reasons”.

These claims are bogus, but they are wrapped in reasonable sounding language like “Universities are not allowed to use race as a determining factor of enrollment or scholarships”.

That sounds great on the surface. But DEI was never about hiring based on skin color or sex. It was always about holding employers and companies accountable for ONLY hiring white guys. There is subtle but incredibly important difference in those two statements.

This has never been, nor will it ever be about ‘reverse racism’ or ‘meritocracy’.

It has always been about the erasure of non whites males from the public eye.

DEI is the new “N-word”

The fascist deletion of all things non-white and non-male is reaching a new fever pitch. Too many websites to count have been scrubbed of all mentions of minority or women scientists, soldiers, pioneers, doctors, and so on.

Now they are stepping it up in many different ways. One of the more prominent ones over the weekend was the quiet burying of any mention of minority or women veterans on the Arlington Cemetery website.

As egregious and petty as that is, the defense department is going one step further. In the case of many heroic veterans of color or women, they are not only removing their stories and photos from the website, but they are actually redirecting the user to a new URL stub that replaces the address with “DEI Medal of honor”.

This goes beyond the mass ctrl+F → Delete fiasco. This is a targeted attack on the very humanity of the ‘other’. NYT columnist, Jamelle Bouie says it even more clearly.

There are also reports that all photos are coming down within the academies of anyone except while males. The only white males that have been removed are photos of anyone who publicly disagreed with Troomp. This is the classic ‘whitewashing’ of history. Representation matters. But why would a bunch of politicians who have no interest in representing us at all, care or know anything about that?

Do you like Libraries? Too bad!

In a new Executive order released this weekend, Donald Duck called for massive reductions for a sweeping range of agencies and departments. Among them is the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The IMLS is marked for ‘maximum reduction’.

This is the agency responsible for providing federal funding to local libraries and museums. If this EO is followed through on it, it will cause many library programs to lose essential financial support. The more rural the library, the more likely it is to be affected and even closed.

Final Thoughts

Like everything else, the true chaos will unfold in almost slow motion. A series of cascading failures that will be slightly inconvenient at first, and then significantly burdensome, and then a total paradigm shift of reality. We will be shoved face first into a reality where any dissent, public or private, is punishable by random abductions and deportation to El Salvador. We will suddenly wake up in a world with no libraries. We will suddenly wake up in a world where almost everyone is afraid to speak out for fear of unilateral and violent retribution from both local private/secrete police and federal level enforcements.

There are no two ways about it, the regime is currently trialing their ability to unilaterally, without due process, without proof, without reason and without warning disappear folks to El Salvador for crimes they will never document or proove and many of these people will never be seen again.

Soon, we are going to wake up in world that is unrecognizable. People’s rights are being taken away and the groundwork is being put down right now to take away everyone’s rights sooner than later.
