How Does Democracy Work Again?
Stephen Miller, better known as the heartless, hairless troll with the world’s smallest penis, began tweeting yesterday about the “dangers” of “extremist” judges who believe they are “in charge” of the executive branch. He states that if any of these judges can just decide what the executive branch does is illegal, then then Article II is meaningless and Democracy and Government cannot function.
This is the White House Chief of Staff arguing that if the Judicial Branch disagrees with the Executive branch and tries to reign in illegal and anti-constitutional actions, that “government cannot function”.
On top of that he goes out of his way here to further define these extremists anarchists as “unelected”.
I feel absolutely wretched even having to explain this but Judges aren’t elected. They are appointed. And at the level of government he is criticising, their ONLY job is to keep the executive branch in check.
So, to recap. The White House Chief of Staff is putting forth the rhetoric that government will not be able to function unless these judges quit interfering.
A massive purge of the judicial system is incoming. They are continuing to ramp up the rhetoric and actions taken by all despots and authoritarian dictators.
Soon, Curtis Yarvin’s ideal CEO style of governance will be enshrined. Once the judicial branch is fully co-opted and only the loyalists remain, they will start rewriting the law entirely, framing the machinations of Democracy to fit their agenda instead of it’s primary and foundational purpose. They will take the word ‘Democracy’ and change what the letter and intent of the law it. They will change the constitution to match their whims.
They will forever tarnish the term ‘Constitutional Democracy’ the way Hitler tarnished the Swastika.
Everyone Is Welcome Here
An Idaho teacher was told to remove a poster that said “Everyone is Welcome Here”. She asked if there was a complaint. She was told there was no complaint, but they were in violation of district policy. The policy states that there are to be no ‘personal opinions’ displayed in the classroom.
In this case, she was told by the administration that “Not everyone believes that ‘Everyone is welcome’”.
Marcus Meyers, the Schools Chief Academic Officer clarifies that the issue is not the phrasing, but rather that it showed cartoon representations of brown and black hands along with the white hands.
The teacher is fighting back and put the posters back up, and emailed the principal saying;
“I don’t think it is a personal opinion. I think it is the foundation of public education.”
She was told she has until the end of the year to take the posters down or face disciplinary actions including being fired.
It began as a ctrl+F → delete campaign against an Orwellianly long list of words. It progressed into an overt racists and sexist agenda that is now actively erasing key (all) parts of American History involving non white males.
Now this begins trickling down into state and local levels as those boards and governments feel more and more comfortable echoing the racist rhetoric and whitewashing being modeled from the top.
Final Thoughts
We’re in a bit of a lull at the moment. It feels like the calm before the storm. And conspiracy or not, Qanon has been promising a ‘Storm’ for quite a few years now. The regime is currently attempting to push through one last obstacle of bureaucratic law and public opinion. How so ever go the next two weeks, so goes the nation.
While we are on the Chris Hayes channel, here is a longer but very strong segment summing up the current situation perfectly. As a bonus it features feckless Chuck Schumer low-lights.
The conclusion of this clips underscores what I have been saying for the last few days. Without mass public movement in the streets, this only ends one way.
Hundreds of thousands of people, that’s what it’s going to take. Honestly, I think now is the time to take political risks before it’s too late. … The whole point of America is that you cannot have one guy in charge of everything without checks or balances. It is literally the foundational insight upon which this country was built. No kings. Not ever. There is nothing quite possibly more fundamentally American.
